Humanity fears death because it lacks totally the conscious values needed to present itself before God. Once the great mysteries contained in this booklet are put into practice on all the levels of the Being, a new panorama will open in our existence, because we shall bring before the creator a gift of great value; in this case it would be our good works, and in this form we would avoid the Karma which is the cause of so many sufferings and bitternesses in this life.
Samael Aun Weor
PROLOGUE
In this booklet Master Samael Aun Weor speaks of physical death and all that happens after disincarnation.
Through a self-analysis upon oneself we shall be able to recognize our evils, and repent from the heart: preparing ourselves so that our Real Being may express itself through our Creative Larynx. If we place our mind at the service of the heart there will be better comprehension so that we may orient ourselves and render a better service to humanity.
Therefore, we counsel all the readers of this work to put into practice what the Patriarch counsels in this booklet, which with so much sacrifice and love he has delivered to us for our own benefit.
PEDRO LÓPEZ LINDO
Chapter One: DEATH
Beloved disciples:
I am going to speak to you of the problem of death. Death is the Crown of all; after death the soul enters the Astral Light; when the hour of death arrives, the Angel of Death approaches the deathbed. There is a choir of angels of death. That choir is directed by the Planet Saturn. Each Angel of Death carries a book. In that book are noted the names of all the souls who have to disincarnate. No one dies on the eve. The Angel of Death does no more than to take the soul out of the body. The soul is united to the body by means of a fine celestial cord of silvery color. The Angel of Death breaks that cord so that the soul cannot again enter the body. The Souls after death see the Sun as always, the clouds, the stars, as always, all the same. For some time, the souls of the dead do not believe that they have died. Those souls see all the things of this world the same as before; for that reason they do not believe that they have died.
The Souls of the dead live in the Astral Light; the Astral Light is the Light of all enchantments and magical spells. The Astral Light is related to all the air; we eat it, we breathe it, but we can only see it with the eyes of the Soul. The Souls see themselves with the same clothes they were seen with in life. Little by little the consciousness of those souls awakens and then they realize that they no longer belong to this material world of flesh and bone.
To converse with the dead there exist various secrets; in a room the portrait of the deceased is placed and every night, at midnight, the disciple enters his room, places beside the portrait the foods that the deceased liked most. He serves them in the very plates that the deceased used; he lights a candle for him; he calls him three times by his name. The person sits beside the portrait and immediately begins to meditate personally on the life of the deceased, his history, imagining what he was before, etc., until the disciple becomes drowsy. Every night the disciple can perform the same experiment at the same hour, in the same room, and sit in the same chair and in the same spot, until the disciple can see the deceased, hear him and converse with him personally. The important thing is that the disciple manage to become drowsy in moments of meditating on the life of the deceased. In those instants of being drowsy, the deceased will appear and then the disciple will be able to converse with him personally.
This is not Spiritism. This is Practical Magic. The important thing is that the disciple have much faith, patience; much constancy; if the disciple does not tire, at last on any night, the soul of the dead one will appear and then the disciple will have the pleasure of conversing with the loved Being who has departed for the Beyond. The most important thing is to see him, hear him, touch him and palpate him.
In the Orient there is a cave where those who want to see the Buddha enter to invoke him. On a certain occasion a Chinese who wanted to see the Buddha entered the cave and invoked the Buddha; but the Buddha did not appear. Then the Chinese swore not to leave the cave until the Buddha appeared to him. Thus the man lasted several days calling desperately to the Buddha until at last, the Buddha appeared in the middle of the cave full of light and beauty. Then the Buddha blessed the Chinese and the latter left the cave happy. With this system of invocation we can see the dead and converse with them.
Little by little the consciousness of those souls awakens and then they realize that they no longer belong to this material world of flesh and bone.
Chapter Two: EVOLUTION OF THE DISINCARNATED SOUL
The Souls of the dead have to traverse the spheres of the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Each one of those planets is enveloped in an Astral atmosphere.
The astral Atmospheres penetrate and interpenetrate one another without confusing themselves. All those atmospheres are related to the air we breathe.
Chapter Three: MOON
When the soul enters the Lunar sphere it feels very attracted toward the place where its body is buried; it wants to act exactly as if it had flesh and bone. Those souls sit down to lunch and to eat in their houses and feel the same physical needs as before.
Chapter Four: MERCURY
When the soul enters the atmosphere of Mercury it sees that the atmosphere clarifies more and sees all things even more beautiful than before. Those souls who in life never knew how to adapt themselves to all the circumstances of existence, then suffer the unspeakable. Those souls full of pride and arrogance want everyone to respect them as before, for their money and lineage. However, in the sphere of Mercury, souls are only respected for their sanctity and for their wisdom. The souls who in life were humble, devout and charitable feel blissful in the sphere of Mercury.
Chapter Five: VENUS
Later the soul enters the sphere of Venus. In that sphere souls become childlike and enjoy as a child and play in the bosom of nature. In the sphere of Venus we become profoundly religious and understand that all religions of the world are pearls strung on the golden thread of the Divinity… In the sphere of Venus we become mystical and enjoy ourselves among the forests and mountains of nature. We are happy.
Those souls who never had any religious style, those materialized souls feel themselves there out of their environment; like birds in another’s coop; they suffer the unspeakable. Those who were delirious and fanatical in religious matters feel there immense remorse, for their bad actions because they understand the harm they did to others. Those souls suffer unspeakably. Some time later the soul enters the Solar sphere.
Chapter Six: SUN
In that sphere we understand the unity of life, we understand that the life that pulsates in the heart is the same life that pulsates in the very heart of every world that resounds through the spaces. In the sphere of the Sun we understand what Universal Fraternity is and we feel that we are one single great human family. Those souls who were egoistic feel there in the sphere of the sun a profound remorse and a great moral suffering. Those souls suffer the remorse of their bad actions. In the solar sphere we see in every face a brother.
Chapter Seven: MARS
Later the soul enters the Martian sphere. In that sphere we feel the longing to withdraw forever from the things of the material world. In that sphere we live a life of mystical enchantment and feel the strong influence of Francis of Assisi, of the Buddha. There we feel that the life of every flower is our own life. We long then to withdraw from the material world forever.
Chapter Eight: JUPITER
Later the soul enters the sphere of Jupiter. In that sphere we understand that the religion we had on earth was only a school through which we had to pass. There we already renounce that religion of the earth and then penetrate the Cosmic Consciousness.
Chapter Nine: SATURN
In that life the Soul submerges, much later, in the sphere of Saturn and then floats deliciously among all the stars of space. It visits the various worlds and submerges itself in the infinite filled with ineffable music, with delicious orchestras that resound in the immense chorus of Eternity, where only reigns the true happiness of limitless space.
Chapter Ten: REINCARNATION AND KARMA
The soul submerged within the bosom of the infinite sees thousands of ineffable beings or angels, Archangels, Thrones, Virtues, Powers, etc., and then understands that those divine beings were men who perfected themselves and who suffered very much in the school of life. The soul understands that life is a school, and desires to return to that school of life to perfect itself. When the Soul wants to return to that school of life to perfect itself, when the Soul wants to return to the world, then the angels of destiny take that soul to a new home: the Angels of Destiny unite the Soul or rather connect the soul to the spermatozoon of the Semen of the Father.
That spermatozoon chosen by the soul that is going to be born makes the womb fecund. Within the maternal womb the soul remains for nine months, forming its new physical body. Nevertheless, the soul is not imprisoned because it can enter and leave the maternal womb and its body each time it wishes. At nine months the soul is born with its new child’s body.
If in the past reincarnation we did much harm to our neighbor, then now it falls to us to suffer the consequences and we are born with very bad luck; our businesses fail; misery pursues us and we suffer immensely. If before we took another’s woman from him, then, now they take her from us; if we were bad fathers, if we did not know how to be good to our children, then we are born in a place more bitter than gall. The parents will make us suffer in the same way we made our children suffer in the past reincarnation. He who sows lightning has no remedy but to reap tempests. He who sows his corn, let him eat his corn; each one reaps what he sows. If God were to send a soul to be born among comforts without having done some good, and others, without having done some evil and they were made to be born in misery, where would God’s Justice be?
A genius comes to be a genius because in millions of lives he has been struggling to perfect himself. We are the result of our past reincarnations. With the measure with which you measure, you shall be measured. There exist 42 Masters of Karma. Karma is the Law of Compensation.
In each reincarnation we are more and more perfect. We have come millions of times to this world, and we have to keep on living, until we become perfect.
There exists a system to remember our past reincarnations: This system is the retrospective exercise. The disciple lies down in his bed every night and then practices the retrospective exercises. The disciple will begin by remembering all the things that occurred, an hour before lying down, two hours before, all the moments of the afternoon and of the morning that occurred during the day. The disciple will strive to remember all the things of yesterday and the day before. He must endeavor to remember everything that happened during a month, in two months, in three, in a year, in ten years, twenty years back, until he minutely remembers the entire history of his life.
Let the disciple endeavor to remember the first five years of his life. The Disciple will then notice that this is very difficult. These years are very difficult to remember; but there is a secret to remember them: The disciple must fall asleep mentally pronouncing the following Mantrams (Words of power): RA-ON… GA-OM… The disciple will fall asleep pronouncing these two words mentally and striving to remember in his sleep all the things that happened to him in the first five years of his history, of infancy.
Dreams are true. Our disciples must open the Bible and study the Book of Daniel in order to learn.
After our disciples have remembered all their current life, then they must strive to remember the last moments of their past reincarnation. If the Disciple manages to fall asleep tranquilly doing this practice, then on a near date he will be able to remember in his dreams his entire past reincarnation. With this secret every disciple, not only will be able to remember his past reincarnation but also will be able to remember all his past reincarnations. What is needed is to practice every night until obtaining the triumph and to have much faith.
Chapter Eleven: KARMA
In the Inner worlds there exists a temple where the 42 Judges of Karma officiate. These are the Forty-two Jackals. They are so called because they cover their head with a kind of religious mask, which has the form of the head of a wolf-dog or jackal. These Forty-Two Masters are those of the Law of Compensation: the so-called Law of KARMA.
All the evils that we do to others in past reincarnations we have to pay for in the next incarnation.
Not only is Karma paid for the evil that one does, but also for the good that one fails to do being able to do it. He who has with what to pay, pays and comes out well in his businesses. He who has nothing with which to pay undoubtedly has to pay with pain inevitably.
The Lords of Karma say: “Do good works in order to pay your debts,” “THE LION OF THE LAW IS COMBATTED WITH THE BALANCE.” If the plate of bad actions weighs more; then we can place good actions in the plate of good actions. It is said: increase the weight of the platter of good actions to incline the platter in our favor. This is how we can cancel old debts and avoid pain.
When an Inferior Law is transcended by a Superior Law, the Superior Law washes away the Inferior Law.
Our disciples must learn to travel in Astral Body, to visit the Temple of the Lords of Karma. The Chief of this Temple is ANUBIS.
The key to travel in Astral Body is very simple: The disciple will lie down on his bed and try to fall asleep tranquilly. Then the disciple will rise from his bed in those instants when he is drowsy and will leave his room. If the disciple gives a little leap with the intention of remaining floating in the air, then he will see with astonishment that he will float deliciously in the air and that he will be able to transport himself in astral body to any place on Earth. The disciple can go in Astral Body to the palace of the Lords of Karma. In this Temple he will be able to arrange his affairs with the Lords of Karma. When we say affairs, we are referring to the debts we have pending with Cosmic Justice. The Lords of the Law also grant credit, but all credit must be paid by doing good works for the benefit of humanity.
We must learn to depart in Astral Body, to arrange personally our affairs with the Lords of Karma.
When man learns to manage his account book, he can better direct his life.
In the Inner worlds there exists a temple where the 42 Judges of Karma officiate.
Chapter Twelve: THE INNERMOST
Saint Paul said: “Remember that your bodies are the Temple of the Living God and that the Most High dwells within you.” The Most High is our Divine I, is our Spirit, is the Innermost.
So then, the Innermost is the most divine thing we have within us. He is God within us. The Innermost is beautiful, sublime, pure.
The Innermost has two things: The Soul and the Body. The Soul is in contact with the Grand-Sympathetic System. The Innermost is in contact with the Cerebro-Spinal System; that is, with the Cerebro-Spinal Column.
The Soul suffers, enjoys, works, acquires experience, commits faults, is imperfect. The Soul is a sinner. The Soul lets itself be carried by passions and for that reason it suffers. So then, if the Soul wants to become an Angel, it has no remedy but to put an end to its defects, become pure, purify itself, whiten itself in order to reach union with the Innermost.
When the Soul fuses with the Innermost, that is, mixes with the Innermost, when it becomes one with Him, then, it becomes an Angel.
The Innermost is a flame. The Soul is another flame. When the two flames are joined, they form a single flame. That flame is Angel. So then, the Angels are perfect men. Repented Souls. Men who repented of their sins. Of their evils, of their fornications, of their adulteries, of their homicides, etc.
God is the Innermost who is within us. The Universal Spirit of life. He is the Divine Fire that is within the rock, within the waters, within the air, in all space. All the Infinite is animated by the Divine Fire. God is a Sea of Burning Fire. Everywhere is the Burning Fire. The Fire is God. The Fire is Pentecost. He is God. The Fire that Moses saw in the Burning Bush of Horeb is God. The Innermost that we have within is a flame of Divine Fire: He is God within us. The Innermost is the Divine man, is the Celestial Man who is within ourselves. When the Soul mixes with the Innermost it becomes Him. Then we become Angels. The Angels are in Nature; they are in the Rivers, in the Sea, in the clouds, in the volcanoes. Everywhere.
Saint Paul said: “Remember that your bodies are the Temple of the Living God and that the Most High dwells within you.” The Most High is our Divine I, is our Spirit, is the Innermost.
Chapter Thirteen: SEXUAL MAGIC
“We came out of EDEN through the doors of SEX, EDEN is the very SEX.”
To EDEN we cannot enter except through the door through which we came out. That door is SEX. No one can enter Paradise through false doors or gates. These do not exist in Paradise. Paradise has no doors of such kind. It is necessary to enter through where we came out. “EDEN IS THE VERY SEX.”
The Sexual Forces are everywhere; everything that exists in the world is a child of sex. We ourselves exist in the world because we had a Father and a Mother.
In EDEN there are two TREES: “THE TREE OF THE SCIENCE OF GOOD AND EVIL AND THE TREE OF LIFE.”
We came out of EDEN for having eaten of the forbidden fruit. We shall not be able to enter EDEN while we continue eating of that fruit.
At the base of the Spinal Column there is a bone called Coccyx; in this bone there is an Etheric Center called MULADHARA, and within that Etheric Center there is a SERPENT OF FIRE embedded. That Serpent is the Fire of PENTECOST. The fire of the HOLY SPIRIT.
That Fire is terrible; it has a tremendous power. That is the IGNEOUS SERPENT OF OUR MAGICAL POWERS. That Serpent is called in India, is known there with the name of KUNDALINI.
The MAGICIANS of India awaken the KUNDALINI with SEXUAL MAGIC. SEXUAL MAGIC is very easy: MAN AND WOMAN CAN UNITE SEXUALLY AND BOTH SHALL BE “A SINGLE FLESH.” However, both, men and women, must withdraw from the Sexual Act before and without spilling the Seminal Liquor.
So then, the Seminal Liquor must not be spilled within the womb, nor much less, must the SEED be allowed to be spilled outside that organ. It is necessary to withdraw from the woman, and she from the man, restraining the sexual impulse to avoid the spilling of the Seminal Liquor.
Restraining the sexual impulse the Semen is transmuted into most subtle energies which rise to the brain between two fine nervous cords. These cords are the “TWO WITNESSES” of which the Apocalypse speaks. They are the “TWO OLIVE TREES OF THE TEMPLE.” “THE TWO CANDLESTICKS THAT STAND BEFORE THE THRONE OF THE GOD OF THE EARTH.”
The Yogi forms his home without need of violating the Sixth Commandment of the Law of God: DO NOT FORNICATE. During the Act of Sexual Magic, a spermatozoon can escape, which the Lunar Hierarchies employ to fertilize the womb, without need of spilling the Semen.
God is the Innermost and his Throne is the Spinal Column.
The Sexual Forces are Solar and Lunar. When the solar and Lunar atoms unite at the Coccyx, then the igneous snake of our magical powers awakens; with that snake we can awaken all the powers of the magicians.
That Serpent enters through the lower Orifice of the Spinal Medulla. The Medulla is hollow inside. Along the Spinal Medulla there is a canal through which the Sacred Fire of the Holy Spirit goes ascending, little by little until reaching the brain.
When the igneous Serpent reaches the brain, then the Soul unites with the Innermost and thus enters EDEN.
The Soul that unites with the Innermost has power over the Earth, over the Waters, over the Fire. It can command the winds and hurricanes. It can hear and see the things of heaven, of earth and of the abyss and can know all the divine things.
CHRIST JESUS said: “The miracles I have done, you shall do, and even greater,” so then, the only form of entering Paradise is through the door through which we came out. That door is SEX. No one can enter Paradise through false doors.
Single people must transmute the Seminal Liquor with deep breathing, keeping the lungs full thirty seconds or more. This SWARA exercise must be performed daily.
Along the Spinal Medulla there is a canal through which the Sacred Fire of the Holy Spirit goes ascending, little by little until reaching the brain.
Chapter Fourteen: THE SEVEN CHURCHES
The Seven Churches of which the APOCALYPSE OF SAINT JOHN speaks are not on the Asian continent as the ignorant suppose. Those Seven Churches are in our Spinal Column.
THE APOCALYPSE OF SAINT JOHN is a book Sealed with SEVEN SEALS. That book is the very MAN.
No one, but only the LAMB, that is, our DIVINE I, who dwells within ourselves, can open that BOOK and untie its SEVEN SEALS.
The SEVEN CHURCHES are Seven nervous centers that we have in our Spinal Column.
Chapter Fifteen: EPHESUS
The First Church is that of EPHESUS. That Church resides in the Coccygeal bone. Within that Church is the SACRED SERPENT; the Snake of Metal; the SERPENT OF BRONZE that healed the Israelites in the desert.
When this Church opens, we acquire power over the volcanoes, over the earthquakes; over the creatures that live beneath the earth.
Chapter Sixteen: SMYRNA
When the Serpent reaches the height of the prostate, the second Church awakens, which is the Church of SMYRNA, and we acquire power over the waters and the tempests.
Chapter Seventeen: PERGAMUM
When the Sacred Serpent goes ascending through the Central Canal of the spinal medulla and reaches the height of the navel, then the Third Church awakens: the Church of PERGAMUM. Then we acquire power over the lightning, over the fire and over the volcanoes in eruption. We can command the volcanoes and the volcanoes obey us. We can command the fire and the Universal fire obeys us.
When the Sacred Serpent goes ascending through the Central Canal of the spinal medulla and reaches the height of the navel, then the Third Church awakens: the Church of PERGAMUM.
Chapter Eighteen: THYATIRA
When the Snake reaches the height of the heart, then the Church of THYATIRA awakens. This Church gives us power over the cyclones, over the breeze, over the hurricanes.
When the Snake reaches the height of the heart, then the Church of THYATIRA awakens.
Chapter Nineteen: SARDIS
When the Sacred Serpent reaches the height of the throat, then we can hear the things that the Angels speak, the words of the Souls of the dead, etc. This is the Church of SARDIS.
Chapter Twenty: PHILADELPHIA
When the Sacred Serpent rises within the Medullar Canal and reaches the height of the brow, then we can see the things of the other world; the Astral Light, the Souls of the dead, Archangels, Seraphim, Powers, Virtues, Thrones, etc. That is the Church of PHILADELPHIA.
Chapter 21: LAODICEA
When the Snake reaches the upper part of the Cranium, the Church of LAODICEA opens. That is the Eye of Diamond. He who opens that eye knows all the things of heaven and of earth. He becomes terrible. He sees everywhere; he is ignorant of nothing; after this the Soul unites with the Innermost and becomes a MASTER; Prophet, Sage, Illuminated, Powerful. He sees everything, hears everything, is ignorant of nothing. When the Soul has totally, absolutely united with the Innermost, then he becomes ANGEL. The Angels are perfect men.
He sees everywhere; he is ignorant of nothing; after this the Soul unites with the Innermost and becomes a MASTER; Prophet, Sage, Illuminated, Powerful.
Chapter 22: ASTRAL JOURNEYS
The Soul is enveloped in a fluidic body called Astral Body. The Astral Body is similar to the Physical Body. Within the Astral Body is the Soul with its Mind, with its Will; with its Consciousness; with its Feelings. So then, the Astral Body is marvelous; that is the Body of the Soul. When the body of flesh and bone is sleeping, the Soul exits the Body of Flesh and Bone and walks about everywhere. The Soul travels in its Astral Body.
When King Nebuchadnezzar was sleeping in his bed, he thought of what his future was to be; then he fell asleep. The Soul of the King then exited the Body of Flesh and Bone, traveled through the Astral plane, and saw a statue whose head was of gold; its chest and arms of silver; its legs of iron and its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay.
The King ordered all the Magicians, Astrologers, Chaldean Diviners to be called, so that they would divine the dream of the statue for him and give him its declaration. There was no one capable of telling the dream to the King, since he did not wish to tell it to anyone. The sages, for that motive, were going to death. Daniel the Prophet went home and prayed to the Lord Jehovah with his companions and lay down to sleep tranquilly.
The Soul of Daniel then exited the body and saw in the Astral the famous statue of King Nebuchadnezzar. The following day Daniel presented himself before the King and divined the dream of the statue for him and gave him its declaration, that is the interpretation. The King was astonished and Daniel was showered with honors.
So then, dreams are astral experiences. Our disciples must say astral experiences and not dreams. Our disciples must say last night I was at such point; last night I was in Astral Body at such place; I had an experience with so-and-so at such Temple, etc.
In Astral Body the Masters submit the disciples to many tests. On the Astral plane and in astral body, our disciples receive in the Temples of the astral plane, their initiations. The Astral Plane is known in the Bible with the name of “Mount.” On the Mount, Jesus was transfigured before his disciples. The Mount is the Astral. During sleep our disciples are on the Mount. It is interesting that our disciples study the book of Daniel in the Bible. All the visions of Daniel were on the Mount, on the Astral plane and not on the physical plane. Upon awakening from material sleep, our disciples must not move because with the Movement of the body the astral body is agitated and the memories are lost. Upon awakening the disciples must strive to remember all those places where they were while their body slept. They must strive to remember all their past experiences on the astral plane. Our disciples must not tell their experiences to anyone.
Within the Astral Body is the Soul with its Mind, with its Will; with its Consciousness; with its Feelings.
