The Metallic Planets of Alchemy

The Sacred Scriptures recount that the Patriarch Noah, on learning of the proximity of the universal Deluge that would submerge the entire race beneath its waters, began to construct the Ark and to announce to his brothers the proximity of the catastrophe, that they might prepare and save themselves from it. But the world mocked his predictions and continued in its disorderly customs and unbridled passions, until the very day in which the waters of heaven and earth swallowed up everything.

Chapter One: PROEM

The Sacred Scriptures recount that the Patriarch Noah, on learning of the proximity of the universal Deluge that would submerge the entire race beneath its waters, began to construct the Ark and to announce to his brothers the proximity of the catastrophe, that they might prepare and save themselves from it. But the world mocked his predictions and continued in its disorderly customs and unbridled passions, until the very day in which the waters of heaven and earth swallowed up everything.

In our modern epoch, the Venerable Master Samael Aun Weor, Avatara of the Era of Aquarius, just as Noah, already carries a long list of written works, all filled with profound wisdom and knowledge for the salvation of humanity from the approaching cataclysm.

Nevertheless, to humanity these predictions of the Venerable Master seem out of place, because life is lived in too much comfort, and there is so much desire to enjoy life, surrounded by so many advances of modern science, that no one wishes to know anything about the great catastrophe.

But the hour will arrive with the punctuality of a bride to her appointment, just as slowly came the anguished and terrible moment of the universal Deluge that buried beneath its turbulent waters every living being inhabiting the planet.

In this opuscule that we are presenting to the consideration of the reader, the Venerable Master addresses the youth with one of the most fascinating and difficult themes, which is the planetary influence upon human life and its relation with the metallic planets of Alchemy.

Saturn and the Moon, Jupiter and Mercury, Mars and Venus, and finally the Sun that gives life to all the planets — he presents them to us forming transcendental pairs that, throughout our life, unite themselves within ourselves to develop our integral existence, on the basis of the wise use of sexual energy through the practice of the Maithuna.

The ages that these planetary influences span cover the entire life of man upon the earth. But without scientific chastity it is impossible to perceive these marvelous influences and to take advantage of them in our complete development as integral human beings.

Thus, the Venerable Master Samael Aun Weor, in the present opuscule, in the same manner as Noah, tries once more to save humanity from the great catastrophe that we have almost at the doors. May the merciful seed of the truth that this little book contains fall upon fertile ground and bear fruit in the hearts of the readers.

Saturn — the Ancient of Days:

Has influence over life between 56 and 63 years — the sword of justice.

Jupiter — thunderer and warrior:

Influences human beings between 49 and 56 years — the horn of abundance is received as the product of the work performed. Jupiter delivers the scepter to kings or the staff to the beggar.

Mars — bellicose and terrible:

Has influence over human beings from 43 years to 49 — the force gives concrete and stable form to the home. The interior work.

Sun — gravitational center, which gives life to all the planets:

Has influence over life from 21 years to 42 years. The vocation is defined. What we must be under the light of the sun.

Venus — love, tenderness:

Has influence over human beings from 14 years to 21 years. The sexual stirring. The age of the pang.

Mercury — the living genius of the Third Logos:

Has influence over human beings from 7 years to 14. The school. The study.

The Moon — the child of ineffable beauty:

Has influence over life from birth to 7 years. The happiness of the home.

Chapter Two: THE METALLIC PLANETS OF ALCHEMY

The Planets of our Solar System gravitate harmoniously around the Sun. Really, the dance of the worlds around their gravitational center is marvelous. Nevertheless, of all this, the most important is to know what is the relation that exists between the planets of the cosmos and our own sexual system, between the celestial dance of the worlds and the alchemical work that we must realize within ourselves.

Observe, brothers, observe carefully the order of the worlds, that you may then try to comprehend what the work of sexual alchemy is. We have here Saturn, and in the lower part Mercury; we have Jupiter, and corresponding to it Venus; we have Mars, and beneath the Moon. All of them form pairs of opposites that must integrate themselves within ourselves through the alchemical work.

If we observe carefully the order of the worlds, we see that the Sun is in the center; he is the one who gives life to all the planets of the Solar System.

It is through sexual alchemy that marvelous transformations can be made.

Above all, it is good to know that these planets have their exponent in our own seminal system and within our own organism. Here and now.

Saturn, the Ancient of the Heavens, through sexual alchemy, converts itself within ourselves into the Moon. Why? Because the two extremes correspond mutually to each other.

Jupiter, through sexual alchemy, transforms itself into the Mercury of the secret philosophy; precisely, the most interesting thing of the Great Work is to see one’s own mercury in the mirror of alchemy.

Mars must convert itself into Venus. That bellicose and terrible Mars that we all carry in our own depths, that warring and quarrelsome Mars, must transform itself into the Venus of love.

And at last, the Sun remains as center, giving life to all our igneous constitution. These metallic planets are therefore also in our metallic chaos, that is to say, in the seminal system, in the Ens-Seminis, in the entity of the semen, where all the alchemical transmutations are realized.

It turns out surprising that the old Venerable Saturn comes to transform itself certainly, to convert itself into the child of captivating beauty that must be born in us, for each one in old age must convert himself in some way into a child, recovering the lost innocence.

It turns out extraordinary that that thundering Jupiter, whose spouse is the Sacred Cow, Devi Kundalini Shakti, through sexual alchemy, converts itself into the mercury of the secret philosophy, into that Mercury that Hermes Trismegistus knew how to handle so wisely.

The great Masters of Alchemy said: ‘Blessed be God who has created Mercury, because without this latter the Great Work would not be possible for the alchemists.’ But the philosophical Mercury really leaves us astonished, that mysterious Mercury that is the very basis of the Great Work.

That Mercury, nevertheless, possesses an intelligence of subliminal, ineffable type; thus it is that one can truly transform the lead of the personality into the magnificent gold of the spirit. It can also be said that Mercury is the result of the transmutations of the sacred sperm into pure energy.

And if we think of Mars, the warrior, the lord of iron; if we think of those bellicose forces that we carry in our interior, in those hard and terrible forces, we cannot help but be astonished on seeing how they transform themselves into the Venus of love, into the tender principle that allows us to love, to feel compassion, to integrate ourselves with the cosmic harmony.

That is what is astonishing, that the thundering Jupiter, that ineffable Third Logos, that Arch-hierophant and Arch-magician of whom Don Mario Roso de Luna, the distinguished Spanish writer, spoke to us, transforms itself into the Mercury of the secret philosophy through the work of sexual alchemy.

Truly, this cannot but lead us to astonishment.

To me, who has been able to see my own Mercury reflected in the mirror of alchemy, I bear witness of what I have seen, and I say that it is grandiose.

If we said only that Mercury results from the transformations of the sperm into energy, and that through that agent we manage to convert the lead into gold, well, we would not say the final word either, because the Mercury possesses more profound qualities: it is the very intelligence of the Third Logos manifesting itself within us.

It is not, therefore, a substance merely raw or merely metallic; it is not only that venerable matter of which Sendivogius, Raymond Lull, Nicolas Flamel, Paracelsus, the Trevisan, and so many other alchemists of all the ages spoke to us.

Speaking metallically, we could say that it is the status converted into the living philosophical Mercury, that bellicose Mars converts itself into that beautiful and perfect creature that walks through the temples, in those sacred places where the great Masters of the Light dwell.

It astonishes excessively, my dear brothers, how sexual alchemy produces in us the permutations of the metallic planets, the transformation of the metals one into another, the radical changes that the Magnum Opus realizes within our being.

How would it be, or in what other manner could those metallic permutations be realized within ourselves? Obviously, without the sacred fire of alchemy, without the Sahaja Maithuna, it would be absolutely impossible.

As you go seeing, what we seek is to convert ourselves into something different, into something distinct; that the diverse chemical substances combine within the organism to originate the diverse interior transformations that lead us to the Great Work.

Clearly, the Sahaja Maithuna, Sexual Magic, is the living foundation of the Great Work.

The human being enters the maternal cloister as a simple germ to develop and unfold. After nine months, such germ comes into existence, already more developed, but not completely; the development must continue throughout the years of life, under the influences of the metallic planets.

Manifestly, during the first seven years of infancy we pass through the lunar influence; we then enjoy the happiness of the home, unless a violent Karma really damages for us these first years of our existence.

But the germ is not completely developed. The fact of having been born as a germ and of having returned to existence, a little more developed, does not mean that its development has terminated. During the first seven years, under the influence of the Moon, the child must enjoy the home, the maternal warmth, the tenderness of the parents.

Later, that germ, continuing with its process of development, enters into the influence of Mercury; then the child goes to school, studies, plays, can no longer be all the hours enclosed within the house; the genius of Mercury impels him to learn, to know, to develop the intellect.

That epoch having passed, we enter into the influence of Venus. By its development, from fourteen to twenty-one years, we pass under the influence of Venus. It is said that this is the age of the pang; men and women begin to feel sexual concerns, the first loves arrive, the first emotions of the awakening sex.

Grave is it, therefore, that that germ that has not yet completed its natural processes of development should enter the terrain of sexual commerce; indisputably, coitus is not recommendable in the adolescents, because they are still gestating, still developing, still maturing.

Thus we see that today it is normal that any man begins to lose his virility between forty and fifty years. Why? Because of the abuses of adolescence and even of the second childhood.

We already said that the first childhood goes from birth to seven years, and there is a second childhood that goes from seven to fourteen years. Unfortunately, today, painful to say, many children begin sexual practices in this second childhood, with disastrous consequences for the rest of their lives.

It is well known that after coitus, the Phallus continues with a certain peristaltic movement leading to gather vital energies from the feminine uterus to try to replace its lost genesic principles. This is one of the secrets of sexual alchemy: the wise interchange of energies between man and woman.

The vice of masturbation is also unfortunately very popularized among the feminine sex. Obviously, with such vice, women who could have been brilliant or good wives have degenerated, have lost their genesic principles, and have ruined their physical and psychic health.

Thus, it is good to comprehend all these aspects of sex, it is good to know what sex is. That adolescents cohabit is absurd, because they are only germs that have not terminated their development; the sexual act in such conditions damages the body, the mind, and the soul.

From twenty-one to forty-two years we must conquer our place in the light of the sun. From twenty-one to forty-two years, our vocation is completely defined in life, and what we have to be under the solar influence is determined.

But when that gland has been weakened by sexual abuse, because, in parentheses, the pineal gland and the sexual glands are intimately united, then the result is that we find ourselves with weakened beings, incapable of fulfilling their vocation, incapable of conquering their place in the world.

If the germ were developed without interventions of any species, if the germ unfolded itself without interferences of any type, if sexual abuses did not exist, on arriving at the age of twenty-one the human being would be ready to face life with vigor and clarity of purposes.

It is good to know that here in Mexico we have fifty-six million inhabitants; we are fifty-six million people who struggle to exist; there are twelve million illiterates and nineteen million who scarcely know how to read and write. This is owed to the fact that the germ has not developed itself harmoniously, because the human being arrives at adulthood without having completed his natural processes.

We always blame the diverse political and economic systems; we always accuse the President or the Presidents of the nations, and that is absurd, because only we are the creators of our destinies through the wise or unwise use of sexual energy.

If the germ that one day entered the maternal cloister were permitted to develop harmoniously up to twenty-one years, we would enter the path of life with great success, strong, powerful, prepared to face the challenges of existence.

As for the feminine sex I have to say, that the germ concludes its processes of development at the age of eighteen years, that is, the woman develops more rapidly than the male, for which reason she can marry earlier than the man, but always within the framework of the alchemical work.

After forty-two years, that is to say, after the solar influence has passed, during which we have had to conquer our little place in the light of the Sun, we enter the epoch of Mars, when we must give concrete form to the home that we have built.

It is good that we think a little of old age, my dear brothers; it is good that we prepare for old age; it is not correct that we wait to be old to then try to arrange our affairs, because then it will be too late.

As as children we had a cradle, a home, a father, a mother, so also as old persons we need a house, we need a home, we need to have a source of economic income sufficient to live with dignity until the moment of our disincarnation.

From the age of forty-two to forty-nine years is the cycle of Mars; then we must, during that epoch, work in most intense form, to the maximum.

It is from forty-two to forty-nine years when we must give concrete form to that home that we must have for our old age. It is from forty-two to forty-nine years when our economic, social, and spiritual security is established for the rest of our life.

Mars helps us with his energetic potency, but unfortunately many have abused of sex during the cycles of Venus and of the Sun, and on arriving at the cycle of Mars, in spite of receiving then the influence of the god of war, they no longer have the necessary energy to build the home of the old age.

There comes then as consequence or corollary, a miserable old age; old age comes to find us without any sure source of income, and then, instead of being useful in some form, we become burdens to our families and to society.

After forty-nine years, that is, from forty-nine to fifty-six, there enters into our life the thundering Jupiter. Terrible Jupiter; he gives the scepter to kings, the staff to the Patriarchs of the religions, the abundance to those who have known how to work, or also the staff of the beggar to those who have wasted their existence.

Let it be borne in mind that each planet has a double aspect, positive and negative. If thundering Jupiter has the angel Zachariel as ruler, he has also his tenebrous antithesis, which is Sanagabril.

Distinguish between Zachariel and Sanagabril; they are different. Distinguish between the horn of abundance and the staff of the beggar.

Obviously, the one who has spent his sexual potential, the one who has spent his vital values, his cosmic capital, gathers the results: misery, poverty, humiliation in the Jupiter cycle.

Old age properly speaking begins at fifty-six years with Saturn, the Ancient of the Heavens, and ends at sixty-three. I do not wish to say that necessarily at sixty-three years we must disincarnate; some do, others continue living. But the Saturnine cycle properly ends there.

Afterward follow other cycles. The cycle of Uranus will follow, for example, but that only the internally developed individuals, the great Initiates, would capture.

Also with its seven years, a cycle of Neptune would be for the great Hierophants; a cycle of Pluto for Mahatmas; beyond would follow two transcendental cycles, and finally, exquisite cosmic harmonies and infinite splendors for those who have known how to fulfill their cosmic duty.

For this reason we see that the old change as they advance in years; a little old one, for example, from sixty-three to seventy, combining in him Saturn with the Moon, becomes very infantile in his behavior; from seventy to seventy-seven, Saturn combines with Mercury, and he becomes more reflective; from seventy-seven onward, he combines with Venus, and he becomes affectionate.

In any case, during all the old age, Saturn is combining in one or another form with the other worlds. It is obvious that Saturn, the Ancient of the Heavens, is the sword of justice that reaches us in the end of our terrestrial pilgrimage.

Thus, my dear brothers, these extraordinary vital transformations of our own existence are marvelous. Normal, common, and ordinary people think that on arriving at twenty-one years they have already arrived at adulthood and that the development has terminated; this is a false belief. The development continues throughout life, if we know how to fulfill the cosmic duty.

What is the cosmic duty? I am going to tell you what it is:

  • Not to permit that intellectual concepts pass through our mind in mechanical form; with other words I shall say: to make ourselves conscious of all the intellective data coming from the mind. How do we make ourselves conscious of the data of the intellect? Through meditation and reflection upon each thought, each concept, each idea that arises.

  • Emotions. We must make ourselves conscious of all the activities of the emotional center. It is lamentable to see how people move under the impulse of the emotions in completely mechanical form, as if they were marionettes of their feelings.

  • Habits, customs of the motor center. We must make ourselves self-conscious of all the activities, of all our movements, of all our habits. Do nothing in mechanical form.

  • We must take possession of our own instincts and submit them.

  • We must comprehend them in depth integrally.

  • Transmute the sexual energy. Through the Sahaja Maithuna we shall incessantly transmute our sexual energies.

Thus, fulfilling the cosmic duty, it is obvious that our life will develop harmoniously; in us will be formed, in us will be fabricated the superior existential bodies of the Being, and thus, the metallic permutations of the Great Work will be realized in us.

Before the great Atlantean catastrophe had totally changed the physiognomy of the terrestrial globe, and even earlier, before the abominable Kundartiguador organ of the continent MU had been developed in humanity, the human being lived much longer than now, because he fulfilled the cosmic duty.

When one fulfills one’s cosmic duty, life lengthens. Unfortunately, the intellectual animal degenerated totally when he developed in his intimate constitution the abominable Kundartiguador organ, and from then on life shortened, illnesses multiplied, and the human being lost his harmonious development.

It is obvious that after having lost that organ, the consequences remained; the Ego, the I, the Myself, the Oneself, within us. With such consequences we became perverse, we no longer wished to fulfill the cosmic duty, and we lost the longevity that we previously enjoyed.

In other times, when humanity had not degenerated, when it still fulfilled the cosmic duty, it is clear that existence was made long; any human being could even attain the average of nine hundred or a thousand years of life, as the Bible tells us of the Patriarchs.

Today these beings are almost no longer seen, because the people do not know how to fulfill the cosmic duty. It is therefore necessary to live in tune with the infinite, to fulfill our cosmic duty, to make ourselves conscious of ourselves, to transmute the sexual energy, to dissolve the Ego.

Thus, my dear brothers, reflect upon all this. Utilize alchemy in yourselves so that you can realize those transmutations of the Metallic Planets within each one.

It is through alchemy, it is through the cosmic duty fulfilled, that we can transform the old Saturn into the divine Moon, into the child.

It is through that sexual alchemy, as I already said, that we can convert the thundering Jupiter into the Mercury of the secret philosophy; it is through alchemy, that bellicose Mars can transform itself into the gentle Venus of love.

Thus, the Great Work is realized in us; thus, we transform ourselves from larvas of humanoids into authentic Solar Men, into true Sons of God.

This is the message that I deliver to you in this book; receive it, meditate upon it, put it into practice. The hour is grave; the moment is solemn; the time has arrived to fulfill the cosmic duty.

Inverential Peace.

SAMAEL AUN WEOR

That adolescents cohabit is absurd, because they are only germs that have not terminated their development; the sexual act in such conditions damages the body, the mind, and the soul.
